PAGAN HOLIDAYS

To all those who may be wondering what they ought to do regarding the pagan holidays, i.e. Christmas, Easter, New Year's Eve, Halloween, May Day, Valentine's Day...--If you truly are a believer in Christ & a lover of the truth & you are earnestly contending for THE FAITH that was once for all delivered to the saints, then please continue to pray about this topic & heed the voice of the Holy Spirit.  Just b/c one does not engage in the worldly holidays, doesn't mean that one is sad or morose or miserable.  On the contrary, the more that the Holy Spirit opens up truth to us, the more free & joyous we become.  We are to stand out as being different from the world, not act as tho we are the same as the unredeemed souls who have reprobate minds!  There is no true freedom in attaching Jesus' Precious Name to all manner of pagan rituals, many of which are sexual in nature regarding Christmas & Easter, in particular.
So as a seeker & lover of truth I want to mention that I recently heard a preacher on the radio make statements about how hard it was to keep Christ in Christmas & how he, himself, found it very difficult to focus on the Lord during the Christmas season.  Well understood!  How can people really focus on the Lord when they are constantly distracted by this world's ways with all the Christmas trappings of shopping, cooking, baking, wrapping, tree decorating, cards, visits, parties, drinking, driving to family/friends during these holidays?!
But most importantly, how can any of us put the Lord's Name to this holiday when it is totally pagan?!  How could the Lord be magnified or glorified when people attach His Pure Name to such nonsense & craziness?!  We are to be lights in the world & show that we are different.  We are to come out of uncleaness.  We are not to be partakers of the unfruitful works of darkness.  We are not to learn the ways of the heathen & we are not to love the world nor the things of this world.  These worldly holidays are included in this world!!!
I,for one, along w/ many other Christians in the world cannot & will not partake of this holiday.  It is better to follow the Lord in the spirit & in truth than to try & tell people about Christ while one is engaging in pagan rituals & lies of all sorts!  Please see these links below for your own study & investigation & most of all, pray for the truth that brings glory to our Lord & brings changes in our lives.  We are to continue to learn & grow & let go of old ways & habits & move forward in the Living God!   If any of you pray & read the information given below &/or do your own homework & do not make a change, then I think you need to ask yourselves some questions about who the Living God really is in your lives & just how far are you willing to go in order to be obedient.
Loving the truth & earnestly contending for THE FAITH that was once for all delivered to the saints, Donna
